Religious versus Spiritual experience

My father was a spiritual and religious person, who used to pray two

times a day, without fail.

I lost my faith in supreme supernatural power in my teens and my

father never could convince me.

But I have read deeply about these things, probably more than

most "believers".

Whenever I go to Delhi, I spend a few minutes at Sri Aurobindo Ashram Delhi.

The spiritual seekers there taught me something about the difference

between Religious-ritualistic experience and true spiritual experiences.

I have a very long way to go (slow learner).

But at least I know that the two things are different.

Better to take a slow and meaningful journey where lessons can be absorbed than to go quickly without taking much in x

enjoy your journey, Prashant...I have a bit of a problem now with the idea of being a spiritual 'seeker', mainly because the spiritual part is such a nebulous concept so how can you seek something that flows through everything' if it exists at all, and will suddenly reveal itself and fill you with wonder and joy...have seen many a disappointed seeker but have met some who have experienced something out of the blue that changed them profoundly and they weren't seeking anything...LOL...GBHs...XXX

Our Life is our teacher. We shall realize, sometimes at the last moment of our Life, as we die. I have seen it happen once. To suddenly sit-up and look intently, then smile, lean back smiling and closing one's eyes unto death.
Knowing at last, the Love, and the knowledge of everything around us. We shall never die. Instead, our presence, as we are now, shall metamorphose into another existence, always, without end.

I have finally given up talking about "religious experience." The spiritual is all my focus. I have spent my whole life in the church and am just beginning to realize I've missed the reality of my life by separating my own spiritual experiences from religion--thereby impoverishing my religon and being afraid of the truly spiritual.
